How We Post a Bond Without You Driving Anywhere

Most Colorado bail bonds can be posted electronically. Here is how the remote process works, and when in-person paperwork is still required.

Most people who call us at 2am picture themselves driving across town to sign papers. In most counties, in most cases, that is no longer how it works.

What “electronic posting” actually means

The booking facility’s electronic system accepts a bond posted from anywhere with an internet connection. We:

  1. Take the booking details on the phone.
  2. Send paperwork to the cosigner by email, signable from a phone.
  3. Submit the bond to the facility’s system.
  4. Confirm receipt with the booking desk.

You do not move. The defendant does not move (until release). Average release time after the bond posts is 2 to 4 hours, depending on the facility’s queue.

Where in-person is still required

A small number of facilities — usually smaller, rural jails — require physical paperwork. We will tell you on the call which side of that line your case falls on. If physical paperwork is required, our office at 1304 Elati Street in Denver is open 24 hours a day to handle it.

What you do during the wait

Eat. Sleep if you can. Do not call the booking desk every fifteen minutes — it does not move them faster, and it ties up a line that more urgent callers may need. We will text you when the bond posts.

The point of working with a bondsman who answers the phone is that you do not have to stand watch. That is what we are doing.
